SEO & local search · New York
Position three with a listing nobody clicks is worth less than position five with a result that reads like the answer. We do the technical work, the local work and the writing, and we report in customers rather than rankings.
Try the editor: write a title and description and watch how Google would actually show them.

Why position matters
Search results follow a steep curve: the first organic result takes a large share of the clicks, and by the bottom of page one there is very little left. That's the whole argument for doing this properly.
It's also why we won't promise you a number. Tap a position to see roughly what it's worth, and read the caveat underneath, because it's the honest part.
Rough share of organic clicks by position
Illustrative. Published click-through studies disagree with each other by a wide margin, and every result page is different now: ads, map packs, AI answers and shopping panels all change the curve. Treat this as the shape of the thing, not a forecast for your keywords.
What the work is
SEO isn't a single service. It's four kinds of work, and which one matters most depends entirely on what's broken. Pick one to see what it involves.
Matters most when:
What we actually do
Local search
Three listings sit above the organic results on almost every local search, and on a phone they take the whole first screen. Getting into them is a different job from ranking a web page, and it's usually the faster win.
[A competitor]
[Your Business]YOU
[Another competitor]
Three slots, and the third one barely gets looked at on a phone. Reviews, proximity and how complete your profile is decide who sits where.
The unglamorous truth about local
Proximity to the searcher is a large factor, and nobody can change where your business is. What we can change is everything else: the profile, the reviews, the categories, the site behind it. That's usually enough to move you up within your own neighbourhood.
Read this before you hire anyone
If someone on this list has promised you one of these, that's the tell.

These are the issues that come up on most sites we look at. Yours will have its own list, with the severity and the fix spelled out.
How it goes
Publishing content on a broken site is pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it. We patch the bucket first.
Pricing
Plenty of businesses only need the first one. We'll tell you which, and we won't push a retainer you don't need.

FAQ
Technical fixes and local work can move things in four to eight weeks. Content and authority take three to six months, sometimes longer in a competitive market. If a site has never been touched, the early wins are usually the fastest part of the whole engagement.
It's changed, and it's still changing. AI summaries take clicks from simple factual questions, which were never worth much anyway. Searches with intent behind them, someone ready to hire, book or buy, still go somewhere and still convert. The work that helps you appear in AI answers is largely the same work: be clear, be structured, be genuinely useful, and be a business that other sources mention.
As a drafting and research tool, sometimes. As the author, never. Pages that rank and convert contain things only you know: what the job actually costs, what goes wrong, what you tell customers on the phone. That comes out of an interview with you, not a prompt.
They still matter, and buying them is still a bad idea. We go after the ones a real business can earn: local press, suppliers and partners, industry directories, sponsorships, and work worth writing about. Slower, and it doesn't blow up in your face.
If you need enquiries this month, ads. If you want a channel that keeps working after you stop paying, SEO. Most businesses should run ads while the SEO work matures, then dial the spend down as organic picks up. We'll say so even though the audit is the thing we sell.
Occasionally. We check the link profile and the content for the usual damage: spun articles, paid link networks, doorway pages for every zip code. If there's cleanup to do we'll quote it separately and explain what we found, without the theatre.
Yes, most of our SEO clients came with a site already. We'll need access, and if the platform makes the necessary fixes impossible we'll tell you that before you commit to months of work that can't succeed.
